When there are burrs, non-conductive oxide scale or sharp edges on the workpiece surface, the electrode wire will break. If the chips in the pre-drilled wire hole are not completely removed, the burrs will contact the electrode wire and cause a short circuit when the machine is turned on; if the outside of the workpiece is covered with a layer of non-conductive oxide scale, there is no electro-corrosion between the electrode wire and the workpiece blank, only dry friction. The problem can be solved by removing the burrs in the hole and the oxide scale on the outside.

Factors affecting the accuracy of traditional precision injection molds

When manufacturing precision injection molds, mold steel with small deformation (micro-deformation steel) should be selected as much as possible. Through metallographic analysis of molds with severe deformation, it was found that the steel used to manufacture the mold contained a large amount of eutectic carbides distributed in blocks and bands. Since the expansion coefficient and elastic modulus of carbides in this steel are significantly smaller than those of the matrix (the expansion coefficient is about 30% lower than that of the matrix), when manufacturing precision and complex molds, mold steel with smaller carbide segregation should be selected as much as possible.
